TE20 sure seal

Just picked up a 1949 TE20 and am just starting to learn about these tractors. From a forum
post I read about a sure seal to keep the rear axel from leaking. Davis Tractor lists this part for a TO20. Will this also fit the TE20? Also need a source for a distributor cap to fit the Lucas system.

If you still need distributor cap and rotor I have a brand new one,never installed because I changed over.to delco system so I have no use for this one.If y0u like I will let you have it for what I paid.I believe it was about $15.00 bucks. Bob

Stan i would assume so since it also fits the 2n,8n, and the 9n. Tisco # is ss92. I have a alt/starter shop that handles lucas, but i'm not that far in my restro. Lucas is an Amearican company, so check your better parts places. Other wise John will be here to tell us where in the UK.

Yes the Sure seals will fit the TE20 ok, just make sure that it is the not the bearing that is worn or the seal wont work. If the bearing is ok it will stop your leak, just make sure the collar on the axle is smooth for the seal to run on then it wont damage the seal lip. A little grease on the collar will help, dont forget to pack the bearing with grease because the oil supply from the axle has now been cut off. For the distributor cap, you can try these people, they stock a lot of parts for Standard Motor engines or you can try your local Sparex dealer, the Sparex part number is S41169.

John we posted at the same time.The sureseal is bell shaped with the seal flaring out to about 2 in(sorry not good with meterics) away from the coller.

Hi Larry, Thanx for that, I dont suppose you have a picture of that seal do you or know a site that there is one on, I would like to see one after all this, Don't worry about the metrics I still think like you and I still think in old money as well....lol
