just found a plow,type 14a ser #52184.Can someone date this for me,whats it worth? he,s willing to swap for my dearborn 10-1 is that fair?

Hi Larry-
It depends on if the Fergie plow is all intact. Does it have a Ferguson-Sherman badge? What about cast A frame? Are the coulters and jointers included? For restoration and/or show, the Dearborn may be easier to get parts for. The Fergie may be worth a little more. I see both go for between $100-$300 around here, $250.00 is usually the norm. Can you send me a picture of both? Thanks.

both have cast frame with coulters,both are scoured, other than paint there both a1.I think the fergie said ferguson only. I've been looking to swap my dearbone for a mate to my 48 te-20.

If the Ferguson has the cast iron A frame for the top link and said Ferguson/Sherman model 14A it would be mid 1939-mid 1942, if it just said Ferguson and model 14A I would guess during the change from the cast A frame to the steel strap A frame during late 1942, 1943 used steel straps for the A frame, in 1944 the model changed to 14AO-28 or 14AO-40, the model to match your tractor would be just AO made after 1947.

Thanks Scott, thats what i was looking for. I think i,ll swap him anyway, at least that gets me a ferguson.Now all's i need is to find someone to swap for the right year.
