What do you guys think. stripping paint,do i remove the tag or leave it. using paint stripper. are the rivets hard to get?

Larry....I always remove the id plate ,The paint stripper will take the writing off the tag, just drill out your rivets and replace with new ones when you are ready to reinstall.....I always cover the tag with masking tape before I drill the rivets just incase the drill slips so it won't scratch it....

I'd wondered about this myself..but how do you get/install the new rivets? What size, and what keeps them in place in a blind hole? May sound like a dumb question, but I really don't know, as I've never done it. By the way, is there anywhere to get a reproduction of the engine ID plate? Mine is all gone (the printing, etc.) except for the stamped in i.d. information.
