Just bought a TO-20 witha 5' finish mower. Will this tractor handle a 5' shredder or do I need a 4'? Thanks.

I have a 51 TO-20 and use a 6' finish mower behind it.

No Problems...

If you keep up with your mowing, shouldn't be a problem, I'd think.

I use my TO-20 with a 5' brush hog all the time with no problem. In really thick grass you have to drop to first but mostly I run in 2nd.

As a side note: I've seen others mention problems with shearing pins on brush hogs. I don't think the T0-20 has enough guts to do it. The worst that's happnned to me was to stall it. :-)

I have a 51 TO-20 and bought a 5' king kutter at the same time I got the tractor. Works fine. Use mine to cut 5-7 acre field. If you let it grow to tall it will bog down and possibly stall, but it works fine.

I have a '47 TE20, and I use a 5'Woods brush hog to mow a 5 acre field. If I don't let it grow too high, I can mow in third gear. The advise you got about the overrunning cluth is crucial. If you don't have one, the tractor is very hard to stop, and you wind up hitting trees. This makes for a problem unless you are really good at sheet metal work!

well i have a to-20 with a 5 ft. but i also have a 3 speed sherman trans. so i have a real low low gear .but if your grass is not 6ft. tall canary grass like mine your 20 will do just fine. i do cut most in 1st gear and in 2nd in the sherman witch is normal 1st gear. if you don't have a over ride pto get one
