My to30 quit charging a while back so I took the generator in to get checked out. Ended up having it rebuilt since the armature was bad. Put it back in the tractor and also decided to spring for a new Interstate 6 volt batt.(tractor has always been 6 volt, pos. ground). Repolarized the generator by touching a wire from the batt. terminal on volt. regulator to the arm. terminal on the generator. I'm still not getting a charge. Voltage reg. is only 2yrs. old, should I replace it and if I do, does it get polarized when performing the steps mentioned above? Does it need to be polarized? I've checked all my connections to make sure everything is tight. Also installed new batt. cables 1/0. Any help appreciated.

Tyler.
i had the same thing on mine i tapped the regulator with the handle of a screwdriver and i saw the ampmeter register ,itook off the cover and cleaned the contacts and its been fine since ,no i didnt have to repolarize ,its also good to have a digital meter handy these days they are cheap and you can go point to point on any circuit , good luck to you.
