I have the hood for my TO-20 at a reputable body shop where they mostly do antique and classic auto restoration. When they tried to find NAPA/Martin Senour 3740 (or 99L3740), both NAPA and Martin Senour distributors said they couldn't come up with that number. OK, what is being done wrong here? They did find Dupont 9650 which is supposed to be the same color.

In UK too much fuss is made about the exact shade of Ferguson Grey. It varied with batches of paint bought in. Many think that the factory bought lots of ex Royal Navy 'Battleship Grey' after WW2, all grey but not all the same. The job was making tractors, not worrying about the shade of grey paint!

Sorry, there was an error in my last message and you cannot log in. Use this one. When the site comes up, click on color formula. Then type in 3720 in the M-S box and you will find 3740.

Paul,

You're right. I found it on the web site. I'll have to check in the morning and find out what went wrong when the body shop's paint supplier tried to find it.

Thanks, Steve

Steve,

I just logged onto the NAPA paint web site and found 3740. So they have it. (see link below)

However, that particular gray is for the TO-35 Ferguson. A better match for the TO-20/30 gray is 10039 (slightly darker with a slightly bluer tint). Also S-W 1337 is comparable to NAPA 10039.
