I have read in this forum that there should be a external oil line from the oil pressure fitting on the side ot the engine to the head to supply oil. Is this true. I thought the oil passages were internal.

If I have oil pressure at the gauge but no oil getting to the rocker assembly why not run an oil line from the oil pressure gauge fitting over to the fitting in the back of the head? Just plug the hole going the other way and now I have oil getting to the rocker assembly.

Why not just clean out the hole going the other way with compressed air and oil. I will guess the passage is plugged up.

There is no external oil line to the cylinder head. Batman is correct in saying that there is an external line to the oil pressure gauge, but that is the only external oil line on the continental z120 or z129.

My wife has told me for years, that I was missing the oil line to my head. What does she mean?

I think the line you are referring to is the one that goes to the oil pressure gauge.

I am not familiar with the Continental engine, but believe that it too has internal oilways feeding the cylinder head/rockers - this based on a thread reference care over which way round you fit a head gasket on a Standard engine (so as not to block the oilway)- and the fact that on the Continental the same problems cannot occur as the head stud holes are asymmetrical (so you cannot block the oilway).

The British Standard engine does not use this line, the P3 Perkins does. I don't know about the Continental.
