I adjusted my valves the other day and noticed that it dosent seem like alot of oil is getting to the head. i am not used to working on a solid lifter system. How much oil should i see at the rocker arms. Should it squirt out or just see it puddle here and there?

I have the same problem and it appears from the forum that this is a very common problem. This is a very confusing issue which does not have an answer except the oil pressure is too low. Is this a common issue because these engines have low oil pressure?

I dont know. I only have about 5lbs at idle and 25lbs when it is revved up. I am thinking about rebuilding the oil pump. i was told by a tractor repair shop that low oil pressure is ok on this motor but I am torn as to what to do.

Tom, I have a TO-30 and when I last worked on the head, adjusting the valves, the oil was splashing off the valve train and spattering the manifold, etc. with the engine idling. Hope this helps.
