TO 3551 Year Unknown

I have a Ferguson tractor that I want to sell. The plate next to the throttle list a serial number of 87265, with a model stamped as TO 3551. It is not in the serial numbers list of this site. Any idea when it was built?

When that plate was stamped it was done by some good old bloke in overalls, or an apprentice with a hammer and a box of letter/number punches - not by a machine.

Because of this, it is possible that you have a TO35 (oops, miss struck the '5' I'll do it again, yes that's near enough now what about the serial number Oh yes it's) 187265.

If that is the case, is it a diesel or gas engine? Any other distinguishing marks?

Just a few thoughts on a hot day.

Gas Engine. I know it was purchased sometime in the mid-1950's by a relative.

Which would make yours possibly a late 1958 Gas engined TO35.

You have two gear levers, yes? One normal long one and a shorter one for the High/Low ratios?
