My 51' To20 has no spark at all. Recently she had a tune-up, points, plugs, cond,wires, cap rotor. She ran well for a time but all of the sudden,began to run very rough. After setting for a week, it wouldn't start. I removed the cap to discover the rotor had broken. So I replaced it, as well as the resistor, coil, points & cond. Checked all connections. Fuel is fine. Still no spark. Anybody have any clues????

Check the insulator between the distributor body and the points spring very carefully to ensure thathe points are insulated by a plastic wascher both sides of the distributor body and through that body. Very common fault when points are replaced and hard to find.

Well all I can say is that I've been there, anyway I had that exact same problem last year and after replacing two or three rotors it was discovered that there was say much end play in the shaft that it caused the rotor to come up so much that it would break off the rotor, your problem may be that you have so much play that when it came up and broke the rotor it may have also jumped time, start by checking your timing and while you are at it check the play in the shaft there are some shims and washers inside the distributor that you may have to replalce, which are all available from your MF dealer.
