A friend of mine has offered to sell me his TO-35 for $3200. I have used it many times, and it is in great shape. It has the two stage clutch, hi/lo 6 speed transmission, newer tires and good paint job. Everything works except the tractormeter. I believe his price is very reasonable.

My question is this...I need a tractor not only for brush hog and other field work, but to plow my driveway in winter. We typically get a lot of lake-effect snow where I live. I would like to put a front blade on the tractor and somehow use the hydraulics to raise and lower it. Has anyone tried this with a TO-35? Is it possible without a lot of modifications? Will a front blade be expensive? Any info will be great! Thanks.

You won't find a finer Tractor, I own 2-35's ,The only thing I have not done with mine is move snow....After thinking about it awhile I would either go with a rear blade(least cost involved) or blower..I dont think a front blade would be cost efficent or do you as good as rear blade would.
And the price is more than fair.

Someone on there has had a Fergie with a front blade and will be able to comment.
I have seen one but only remember the setup vaguely - I do recall that there was a single hydraulic cylinder under the centre of the tractor, and the rear arms were chained down.
Have you thought about a small blower? That's what I'm using now and I think it's better than a blade as it gets the snow farther away, so you don't build up banks as fast.

i have a 54 tea2085, it has a loader on the front and a rear blade its main job around here is moving snow and it does a great job been doing it for years with little on no complaints, id be lost without her, btw we get about 29.5 ft. a year on average.

You won't find a better old tractor. They have outlasted most everything else similar, and will outlast some of todays "compact" tractors. Here is an idea. We had a TO-30 when I was growing up. It was used mostly as a snowplow. We mounted a snow blade on the rear of the tractor, to take advantage of the 3pt. hitch. You would just back down the drive. It seemed to work pretty good. Reverse gear was just about the right speed for plowing snow. My dad had a theory about the tires and being in reverse. He said that you could always get out by going forward, any place that you could get backing up. All I know is that I never got to miss school because the driveway was blocked with snow.
