What are you calling a "Stay Strap" Dale?
are you meaning the stays for the linkage drawbar? If you are the answer is not on the same pin, I have seen them used on the hinged pin with a couple of home made spacers to stop them moving around. If that isnt what you mean, let us know and maybe we can help.

If you are thinking of towing a trailer and using something connected to the top link rocker other than drawbar stays....don't.... definitley not advisable. It may damage the control spring linkage, plus the hitch point is too high for safety. If you are trying to lift the front of a trailer and tow it, really you should be using a pick-up hitch, but you say you want to use a ball hitch, well use the 9 hole drawbar with the ball fastened to it together with stabiliser bars to stop it swinging from side to side and to stop the drawbar rotating you can buy something but you could also make something quite cheaply. Bolted to the drawbar and fitted on top and underneath one of the lower links so it wont rotate. This would be for just moving slowly around the yard. For road work you need something much more robust altogether for safety.
