Ran the engine with valve cover off and there was not any oil getting up there. Had about 5 PSI oil pressure when running. I pulled the head and nothing was plugged. Spun over the engine and oil did not come out of hole in block. I really do not want to spend much money on this. Any suggestions? I will probably drop the pan and check my bearing clearances. How do I know if the cam bearings are any good?

Check your bearings by all means, but just make sure of your oil pump too. they wear just like the engine and will give same results as you are experiencing now. Camshaft bearings usually produce a rattle if worn.
