Can I use multi vis oil such as 10w40 or should i use sae 30 and why.

I have a TEA and stick to the 30 grade in summer. My tractor was not made for the multi-viscosity oils. Check the archives on this site-full of info on this topic.

I think mostly in 1952 they didn't invent multi-grade oil yet, so the manual tells you to use straight 30. We all have our own opinion, but mine runs mint on Valvoline Max-Life 10W30.It makes good oil pressure . It keeps my 350 horse truck motor alive, I guess its good enough for the little Fergy.
