I've just removed the paint from the serial number plate, not the original paint but the paint from someones terrible re-spray job.
I am trying to make out what it originally said on the plate. here's what i can make out: _____ N LA_____sy T____D MOTOR CO (standard i guess)
COVENTRY, ENGLAND
_DE __HES PATENTS
(a bunch of numbers)
BREVETESS.G.D.G
OTHER PATENTS PENDING
(Harrys signature)
___200605

It is all very hard to read and I may have some things wrong. Thanks for any help.

Made in England by
The Standard Motor Co Ltd
Coventry England
Under these UK Patents
||||

||||
Brevete SGDG
Patents Pending
(Harry's signature)
(TEA?)200605

Try to get the stamped-in letter right before the 200605; this is important. If it is an "A" then it's a gasoline model. It could also be various other letters indicating kerosene, diesel, lamp oil, narrow width, etc.
Regards,
Jim W.

I have an engine data plate that has lost all the painted markings, all that remains is the stamped info. Is the anyplace that can repaint it on or make a replica plate?

Jim
