Positive ground, 6volt to-30.

Suddenly stopped charging a while back after, I think, I had inadvertantly put the battery cables on wrong. Generator is getting checked out in the shop as I write this, voltage regulator, wiring and battery all 2 years old. All connections clean and tight. My question is, what harm could I have done and to what? Will the generator and voltage regulator need to be polerized again?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Tyler

Its funny almost the same thing happened to me. When I bought my TO30 last year it was set up for negative ground. I changed that back just 3 weeks ago and finally trouble shot the generator down to not being correctly polarized 2 days ago. Your voltage regulator should be okay just disconnect the large field wire off the gen and jump it to the negative terminal with the tractor running. Reconnect and you should be okay.
