I bought a tractor and over the years the serial numbers have become hard to see. I was wondering if there was a way to identify between a TO-20 and TO-30 by looks and if you could distinguish between the years of it. I am new to this area, Please help!

If the tag is still above the dash take a torch and burn the paint off it then take a lead pencil and run over the tag this should highlite the numbers the Z 129 engine was used in the TO 30 the TO 20 had Z 120 if you can find number on engine that would be a good way to tell I have all the manuals copied if you need any let me know
regards

Also, the 30 has an external oil filter and the 20 oil filter is inside the pan.
