PTO wobbles

I run an overrun clutch on my PTO shaft(TE-20) for shredding, and after a few months of light use, the clutch starts running off-center. Is this just in the nature of the clutch with its concentric cylinders and internal ratcheting mechanism? The restriction on its eccentric travel is the rim(shoulder) cast into the PTO rear bearing housing surrounding the shaft, and this rim is wearing down pretty fast. Appreciate any tips! Thanks, Tex

If it's any consolation mine is exactly as you describe. The shaft on my snowblower wobbles around so much that I'm sure it's hard on the U-joints.
I have seen where there are different prices on these - I wonder if the more expensive ones are any better in this regard? Jim

I have a 20 & the stub shaft that comes out of pto that wobbles the splines on the tractor shaft & the stub shaft are worne on mine .You could change the stub for a smaller Or larger splines on differnt equiptment .The reason that this one is worn is the were using a power trailor in the woods logging . Hope this helps .mine has a bolt that holds the stub shaft to tractor pto shaft Ken
