Temperture gauge for tea 20

I HAVE A Ferguson TEA 20 and would like to install a temp. gauge. My problem is that I don't know where on the engine to install the sending unit. The sending unit is a 1/4 pipe tread. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you don't want to drill and tap your housing, see if a thermostat housing off a TED will fit yours - it might save you a lot of grief . . . .

Only the TED was factory fitted with a temperature gauge. To fit one to a TEA you will have to drill and tap the thermostat housing.

It screws into the thermostat housing on the left side near to the by-pass hose, as it is a petrol it may have a blanking plug in place OR it may not be drilled at all. Usually though there is a blanking plug.
