The hydraulic will only lift about one fourth of the way up and stop. Have tried to lift my finish mower with these results. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Ray

Ray,

The question is what happens when there is no load on the Hydraulics.? Does it come all the way up smoothly when empty.?

You can open the inspection port on the right hand side of the tractor (The one with the Dip Stick in it) and start the engine. Raise and lower the life (with the mower attached) DO NOT STICK ANYTHING IN THE HOLE WHILE IT IS RUNNING.. You are looking for Swirl around the hydraulic pump. If it is there then the pump is leaking. A rebuilt pump is anywhere from 300 - 500 dollars so if your brave (or just good with the hands) you can get a rebuild kit for about 40.00 on Ebay.

If you check and there is no "Swirl" in the oil or visable leaking then you may have something mechanical going on (usually it is the pump leaking).

Anyway. If you want really specific information you can get a CD from Big Dean that expalins everything in simple to understand language. Check him out at>Link

>Link Good luck. Remember.. The worst thing that can happen is that you have a good time working on it. Enjoy.

See comments about the hydraulic pump on the TO-20.
Mine has similar problem but I know that I need a pump overhaul.
