Has anyone else ever adjusted the master control spring only to hve the 3pt hitch stop lifting all together? I followed the book procedure and discovered that the hitch only raises slightly with high revs and no weight applied. The master control spring /fitting was very hard to turn. Perhaps I dislodged the linkage?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tim

I don't have an answer for your question, but I'm trying to help my 73 year old neighbor find a gasket for his tractor. He has a To-20 model and needs a gasket. This man has had both his legs amputated and walks on prosthesis. His tractor is his livelyhood. He's thinking about selling it if he can't get this gasket thing. I told him I'd try the internet for him. Do you know where I would begin to find him a gasket. It's the one "above" the oil pan. He bent the pan pretty good when he ran over a stump. How he didn't burn that thing up we don't know. Any help on sites, etc. to find him parts would be greatly appreciated. If you respond please put subject in as "gasket for tractor", please.

Thanks for the voice of experience!
I removed the right side inspection plate with dip-stick. Sure enough the thin rod on the control valve was snapped off. Looks as if a parts search is in order.

I had a similar problem when I tried to adjust the spring on my TO-20, but my lift wouldn't work at all. My spring adjustment was also stuck and by wrenching on it I broke off a thin rod on the control valve. This is located at the lower end of the pump. I believe that the control fork is attached to it. I removed the pump and installed a spare pump that I had on hand. The old pump was used for over 50 years without any repairs and it was starting to hammer a little when warm.

Maybe you do not have the problem that I mentioned in my last message. The control linkage may have become disconnected. That problem can be resolved by reaching in through the side access covers.
