TO-30 In-Line Fuel Filter Installation?

I would like to install an in-line fuel filter. Seems rather harmless but has anyone had any negative or postivie experience regarding this? I lost the small brass filter that screws into the upper part of the glass bowl and filters fuel coming direct from the gas tank.

i have inline filter on my TO30,its about 8 inches from sediment bowl,i think it can't hurt,2 is better than 1,just my thoughts.its a plastic one,not near any heat so no problems melting.

I put one of them plastic "in line" fuel filters on my TO-30. Over time, the plastic got hot and melted, thus, restricting fuel flow. It drove me crazy trying to figure out why the tractor would run a while and then just quit. You can tighten the fuel line clamps too tight and squeeze the plastic nipples shut, also. The moral to this story: use a metal fuel filter.

Sometimes the inline filters interrupt proper flow. I agree with Joe in Houston.

You will not have any problems as long as you make sure you dont have any leaks.

However, for my money I would pay the $15.00 - $20.00 and get a new settling bowl (Keep it original)

I agree. Inline filters are effective, however they are no better than a properly maintained sediment bowl, and you can see when the sediment bowl needs cleaned.
