I just bought a To35 diesel deluxe(standard motor co.) The serial no. is SDMI81756 .It is a hard starter unless i use a little starting fluid .My glow plugs are shot and it has a intake plug also
(heater ?)But it is not hooked up.Any suggestions
on what to do ? Any body have a wiring diagram of the glow plug and intake heater assembly?

I am having the same problem with a 1959 FE35 Diesel. What is the big unknown in my case is the resistor that controls the glow plug. I found one for an International tractor that works but it heats the plugs up way too fast(10 seconds - hooked up to the plugs out of tractor so I could tell). I don't believe it is the right resistance and I fear it will blow the plugs. Is there someone with a manual that can help us out on the specifications for the controller? I would buy a manual myself but I don't own the tractor. Just fixing it for a friend.

Larry - your TO-35 diesel was built in 1958. If you will e-mail me your postal mailing address not later than December 26 (I'll be away for two weeks after that), I will mail you some diagrams and part numbers which may be useful to you.

Hi Paul,

I just bought a 35 Deluxe, 1961 vintage (TO? TE? MF?)with a Continental 4 cyl gas engine posting 33 PTO hp. I am not familiar with this engine. I am looking for some historical information on the company and engine background.

Hi Mark -

You have an MF. They dropped the FE and TO letters (same tractors though) before 1960.

Gerald J on the MF board is very familiar with that tractor and engine.
