Putting a TO-35 through its paces

I purchased a TO-35 in January and would like to hear all the opinions of what these tractors can do. How do you know if your tractor is giving you full power? How should a TO-35 perform when its lugged down? How much should the 3pth be able to lift? My 3pth has a leak and that has made me interested in figuring out all that can be improved. Roger, I have a 1955 TO35 and it might be easier to describe what it cant do (like fly). A TO35 in good shape (Mine is in excellent shape) has a suprising amount of power. I recently used mine to pull some logs around that were so large I cut through from both sides with a 18" chainsaw and still dod not cut them in two. The 3Pt hitch should lift about 1500 lbs (enough to pull your front end off the ground if your not careful)

The TO35 with the 4 cyl gas engine has enough power to work a moderate farm with no problems, plowing, discing, ect. It carries a heck of a load when you use a dirt scoop as well (Just make sure you use front end weights if you carry large loads on the 3 pt hitch as the front wheels will come off the ground.
