Is it possible someone put a TO30 motor on my 1950 TO20?

Thanks for the reply. From info I have, tractor is a 1950 TO20. se # TO-36934 engine block casting #Z129A600 Appears to be a se# plate on motor as well-137707. Any other thoughts?

It sounds like the original block was replaced with one from a TO30, which is fine. The motor has slightly more CI(9) and HP(2); if memory still serves me well.

I replaced the TO-20 engine in my 1951 Ferguson with a TO-30 engine. The price for either rebuilt engine from Central tractor was the same so I chose the 30. My reason for doing this was a little more HP and mostly because it had the oil filter on the side rather than in the pan. I needed a To-30 cylinder head, oil pan, and oil pick up with the screen to do this conversion. The rebuilt engine is great. I could see where the rebuilt block had been welded between the cylinders on the bottom but this has been no problem. I checked the crank when when I received it and the the bearings were standard size. I paid about $1700 for the rebuilt block without the head about 5 years ago. That seems like a lot of money, but it would have cost me just as much or more to re-weld and completely rebuild my completely worn out engine after over 45 years of hard running.
