To-30 parts book

I am in the market for a parts manual for my 1954 To-30. I have been looking around and can not make up my mind. Over on the left when I do a search for parts manuals I have 2 options. A 160 page parts manual for Ferguson TE20, TO20, TO30, 2N, and 9N. Or a 135 page manual for the TO-30. I think the To-30 parts manual is the better choice because it is specific to the to-30 only. The only thing that bothers me is that the manual has a to-20 part # (Part No. MH-P-TO20)????? Does anybody have any expierence with either of these 2 manuals. I ordered the repair manual and am somewhat dissapointed with the quality of the printing. I have a lot of work to do on my baby in the next few months and I want to get the best parts book for my money. Phil Fenner listed a few parts books in his Ferguson lighting article in the Jan Ferguson Furrows: 693 041 M1 and 693 041 M4. Any body have expierence with these??? I guess my real question is which parts manuals do you guys use and which ones do you like best if you have more than one?

Come on you guys. I saw the post on "N" board commenting on how much you guys enjoy all the articles over there. I do too but, I post a question asking for opinions and I just get a couple replys. I do want to thank the few that did take the time to reply though. It sure would be nice if we could get that much enthusiasm over here on the Ferguson board and or Rod�s Ferguson board and then there would be twice as much to read.

Todd, I would try to get a parts book that was for your tractor yr or a little later. I think they all include the TE20,TO20 and TO30 no matter what you buy. The TO35 and 40 are specific to those models at least the books I have seen.As far as repair manuals, the best I have seen come from FAXON Auto Literature at800-458-2734 and they are superb quality and look brand new. Cost is $19.95.

Todd, looks like I messed up the parts book I have in my report on lights. I have the M2 rather than M1version, and it works just fine for me. Later versions may be a little better, but they dropped the 2n/9n compatibility columns if that is important to you.
I purchased an overhaul manual I think from Kings Books and it is a terrific reprint job, it looks like a new original. It covers the TE20,TO20 and TO30.

Todd, sorry I made a small boo-boo in my previous post. I meant to say that the early parts list have the Ford like part numbers which can be handy when looking at Ford parts to use. Ferguson used the numeric part of the Ford part number and replaced the 2N/9N prefix of Ford with A-TO or sometimes just TO. The commonality column of 2N/9N along with the T020, TE20, TO30 columns were retained for all parts list books with these Ferguson models. My 1955 book shows the new Ferguson part numbers with the corresponding Ford like numbers and my 1957 book dropped the Ford like part numbers. Hope this helps. Parts books are not a big investment and having some for different years is interesting.

Hi Todd, I have an original 693 041 M1 parts book and use it often. It lists all to30 parts with diagrams. It is not "specific" to the to30, but I believe that is a bonus. It lists parts for the to20, 8n, 9n, the te and tea20. Good stuff if you want an idea what parts are interchangable. It has served me well.
