I am replacing the rh lower lift link (arm) on my TO-20. The replacement arm is a used one in good condition. At the implement end of the link there is a sheet metal retaining clip in which the linch pin is placed when not in use. There is a small chain which connects the linch pin to the retaining clip. On my old lift arm the last link of the chain seems to have a messy weld to close it over the small hole in the retaining clip which is evidently there for that purpose. Question: What is the "official" method of connecting this small piece of chain to the retaining clip?

The "retaining clip" is split at the chain attachment hole. Bend each side in opossite directions enough to slide the link into it, then bend them back to where the ends are flush.
