I worked with a 35 loader for years, then tried a more modern JD2030 with spool valves and power steering. I wouldn't have swapped back to the 35 again. Years later I eventually got to use a JCB 406 loading shovel and now I wouldn't use ANY tractor mounted loader in preference to it. I guess it depends on what level of performance you come to expect and can be happy with. Also depends on what you intend to do with it and how often. They do work ok but understandably are just are not a patch on more modern kit. Lack of power steering is major disadvantage although you do end up with arms like Popeye from wrestling the steering. Its also quite hard on the various front axle bearings.

I think fitting power steering and spool valves to a 35 is likely to prove more difficult and expensive than swapping the tractor for something else with them (and a loader?) already fitted. That said you can operate a loader from a 35 with no special valves provided you are willing to work with a mechanical trip for the bucket/fork.

Just my thoughts on it.
