TO20 jams in gear

It should be as simple as pushing down the hydraulic
control...prior to attempt to move the shift lever
when the hydraulic is lifting the pump puts a strain on the PTO shaft which is mechanically conected to transmission.

On my TEA-20 if the hydraulic is on its way up
and I depress the clutch sometimes it is impossible to move the shifter...in these situations I push down the hydraulic control
put transmission in neutral release clutch pedal and then lift the grader.

I get the same problem on my TED if I've stalled the tractor when mowing/hogging - but only if the stall was caused by the mower getting hung up. Then I can't disconnect the PTO using the lever, and I can't get out of gear, either. The problem, as you have found, is that with the trans. torqued, the gears lock. And no, even with your foot on the clutch, it won't come out of gear.

My question is this, is your plough a straight blade, or does it incorporate a thrower? If so, how is the thrower driven? Could that cause the trans to torque up through the PTO? Is there a chance there could be a load on the hydraulics causing a similar effect?

I think it's a 'normal' problem on TOs/TEs, and I've only now learnt to disengage the PTO before the whole thing grinds to a halt - then you don't get the problem.

If you can stall the tractor, there's nothing wrong with your clutch!!
