TO30 Single Headlight?

I have a 52 TO-30 that has a series of holes cut in the front of the hood right above the radiator...Never knew why the were there. My wife bought me a vintage tractor book for Christmas and in the foreground of one of the pictures was the front end of a Fergie with a large single headlight mounted on the top of the hood...Does anyone know if this was this a factory option or an aftermarket add-on?

Eb, this picture you refer to is an English light configuration using Lucas lighting equip.
All North American Fergusons, imported or built here used dual front headlamps and worklight by C.M.Hall and taillights by Taurus and Hall(later tractors).
