I have just completed the restoration of my TO-30 minus one thing-a bumper. I have searched the archives and understand that they are extremely scarce and collectible. I want one but it does not have to be original. If anyone has any information on the matter or would like to share some information on making one it would be greatly appreciated!

Matthew, I made mine frm a Ford bumper so hood would raise. But I have seen and I have snapshots of what I have been told is the original Ferguson offering and it has a spring loaded device that will allow the bumper to be rotated out of the way so the hood can be raised. Pretty slick, but I have only seen one and the fellow that owns it said he had to buy the tractor to get it. I can send you pictures of it if you wish.

Matthew, the pictures in the new post by Ralph are essentially what I have so these should do, if not tell me and maybe I have a different view. Will check.

Matthew-

I just added a bumper to my TO30 not too long ago. I found it at a local tractor salvage yard. They told me it was specifically for a TO30. I have a pic of it toward the bottom of my PictureTrail album. Is this the style you are looking for?

I could take some measurements for you, and email you some more pics if it would help.

Are there any identifying marks or numbers on the originals? Thanks

Ken, the bumper sold to you is not an original Harry Ferguson bumper. Dad bought my 1953 TO30 new from the dealership in Elletsville, IN. He sold me the tractor in 1989, at which time we restored it. The Harry Ferguson tractors usually were not ordered with bumpers as they were rather expensive, so most folks fabricated a bumper of thier own design. I don't know how to post a picture of the bumper, but if you'll email me I'll reply with the picture as an enclosure.

I have seen your pictures and am impressed with you and your fathers work. Someone else told me that the bumper was made out of 3x1/2 metal. I would appreciate some close-ups of yours and measurements. This would help me alot. Thanks Ken!
