The time has come to change the spark plugs on my TED20. What currently available mass produced plugs (in the UK) would best suit the engine?
cheers,
Mike

Mike, You can't just put any old plug in and expect it to work, particularly on an engine which will also burn TVO. Some plugs are hotter or cooler than others. The recommended plug for the TED is Champion N7, gap 030 to 035 inch or 0.76 to 0.89mm. For the TEA, (petrol) use Champion L10, Gap 30 TO 32 inch or .76 to .81mm. For a TEA converted to burn TVO use Champion L8, gap .032inch.
Hope this helps

As a TVO user, I suppose I must just be lucky then. Like I said, two years of hard graft, and no problems yet.

If you think about it, chainsaws run on two stroke, which isn't that much different to TVO.

At the end of the day, each to their own.

Mike,

I use chainsaw plugs, and they seem to run just fine - two years of hard work, and no trouble yet.

Just drop into Halfords, take an old plug with you for diameter and length (I can't remember if they're long reach plugs, and I think they are a smaller diameter thread than car ones).
