How much would you pay for this tractor?

Survey time. Ive got a 1952 Ferguson TO30. Heres the short version of a long story: Its not pretty, but its all there, and up until a couple of months ago was a good runner. Then the rear crankshaft seal started leaking. Then while brushhogging one day, it lost oil pressure and the engine locked up. It has run since, enough to get it to where I could work on it to replace the seal. But then it locked again. I dont think the engine is completely galded as it will turn a little. But I do believe its time for some major engine disassembly and rebuilding; something for which Im not equipped, talented, or motivated enough to do right now. This is the second Ferguson tractor Ive had the pleasure of tinkering with over the past 10 or 12 years, but Ill tell ya it gets a little old when the tinkering is constantly done under the gun, while your pastures growing out of control and other work is suffering while the machine sits. I think its time to upgrade to something just a tad newer that has a bit more day-to-day practical useability. My question is, what might a tractor like mine be worth on the market, either as a project, or as a parts tractor? I certainly have no illusions of getting wealthy off it, but neither do I want to give it away, as whatever I get for it will go to another tractor. How about it, all you Ferguson fans? What would you pay for this tractor? Thanks.

One that runs really well may sell for $2500. A professional engine overhaul is maybe $1500. Depending on what else needs to be fixed or what cosmetic things need attention you can do the math and back into a price. Probably to restore and sell it for a profit the price needs to be more or less free. The last one I bought that wasn't running I paid $650 and it had excellent tires and straight somewhat rusty sheet metal. Now I have it in excellent condition but if I sold it I would lose money. Best way to price it for profit is for salvage. If sheet metal, wheels, tires, etc., are good they will sell on eBay. Mark Hendershot (Willy-N) who is usually on the N-Board has lots of experience parting them out. You might seek him out.

Probably no more than salvage value of the parts would try for 800 if possible. IF the rims and tires are good they will bring a fair price also always seems that folks want it for nothing but not knowing if you need a crank or what else is potentially wrong in the engine really brings value down it is hard to sell a running tractor I find folks offer ridiculous prices for stuff. The surest way to see what it is worth is to put it for sale.
