Hi, I just bought a fergie to30, only way to start her is with a shot of ether, once running, runs great, no smoke and good oil pressure. seems to be getting fuel, just needs a little kick. Any Idea's? thanks, Dave.....

Well if it runs great after it gets going and only has a problem starting, the first thing I would investigate is the choke. Perhaps the cable is not hooked up properly.

Hi Dave, I may be dumb for thinking this but is it a Diesel engine? Either way sounds like the fuel end of things. Timing could be off as well. Maybe give more insight into the symptoms you're encountering like if fuel line at engine end is flowing freely etc.
