I just recently obtained what I thought was a massey ferguson to-20. Its red and grey but as I started to clean this up and repair it, I found several blue spots.( under the hood mainly )The Hood has the Ferguson emblem, but someone put Massey Feruson Stickers on it. There is no serial number plate on it for it was removed by a previous owner. There are numbers Casted on the case that read: HF TO-4024. The Gentleman who I obtained this from Said it was a 1953 MF TO-20. But as I learned that is impossible because of MF's not being made until 1956. If anyone can help or to tell me where I could find more markings to I dentify this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

What are the numbers on the engine? Do you have a number that starts with Z120, or Z129, or Z134, etc.? If so, that will be a big clue, as those Continental engines were used on the TO-20, TO-30, and TO-35, respectively. Let us know.

On the Engine it says:
Z 120 A 600, By the way does anyone have a coil for a 6 volt starting system because mine is currently not working.

The Z 120 isused in the TO 20 as Phil pointed out. Your local auto parts store should have a 6 volt coil. The plus side of coil goes towards the dist. as you should have positive ground.
