A friend has acquired an old, burnt Harry Ferguson. The data plate riveted to the side of the engine is gone, but I've got some casting numbers & hope someone can help us try to pin down the model:
Z129A600 (embossed left side of engine)
TO-501-B (embossed on hydraulic cover)
TO-700G (or 7006, embossed on rt side of trans)

I'm afraid there's not much else in the way of identifying numbers. Can post a pic of the old girl if that would help. Any & all suggestions will sure be appreciated.

The Z129 Continental engine was used on the TO-30 Fergies. Is there a plate riveted to the dash? If so, you can take that number (it should start with "TO...") and go to the link for serial numbers on the left column of this page and get the year of the tractor. Most likely it is between 1951 and 53, inclusive, since it appears to be a TO-30.

No data plate on dash

Phil, the data plate on the dash was burned off. Evidently there were a lot of aluminum parts on the tractor - including the data plate - that just plain got melted off. There was also a cast aluminum piece that the steering column runs through that was also melted in places. Not sure what that piece is called.

For now, I'm happy knowing it's probably a TO-30. I can do something with that info.

Thanks, Phil, that's a start! I'll go by & check the dash for a data plate.

Again .. thanks a bunch.
