Thomas,

If you determine you need some parts to repair your lift system, send me an e-mail at [email protected]. I have a TO-30 that I had around for spare parts that still has the rear area still intact.

Thomas, getting it out depends on the tractor model, but I would not start until I had an overhaul manual preferably by the tractor manufacturer. And the problem may be of a nature that you don't have to remove the pump, so some research is recommended.

I second Phils post. Attempting to remove the pump without the proper knowledge is sure to cost you more money than the shop manual. You're not even sure if it needs to be removed yet; the diagnostic procedures in the shop manual may save you loads of time, effort, and money. To determine if the pump is working, remove the side cover where the dipstick is and using a flashlight, look inside the case. With the 3pt lever raised, you should not see any oil streaming, spraying or squirting. Slow dripping from above is ok though. If you see turbulence in the oil perhaps the relief valve is bad allowing the oil to just pump back into the resivour instead of to the ram cylinder. If you see oil streamin or spraying above the oil liquid level the pump may not need to be removed to fix the cause. This should get you started locating your problem until you get a shop manual.
