Have a TE-20 with Marvel-Schebler carburator. What are adjustments supposed to be on this (both to start and to get final adjustment after warm)? Can Carb be cleaned and helped by using spray carb cleaner? If I decide it needs to be dismantled, cleaned and re-worked is it possible for a rookie to do this? If answer is yes, what parts needed, where to get, and where is good information (with some pictures) for doing the work?

Hey Terry, I am a rookie at this as well. I just recently obtained a Ferguson that I have been dumping money into hand over fist. My Ferg also has the Marvel-Schebler and I just put a carb kit in it. I ordered this from a automotive/ hardware place( you could probably go to napa ). I used Carb cleaner and an old tooth brush and soft wire brush and then dried and put the kit in. The kit came with directions and was fairly in expensive.

Hey Tom,

How'd it turn out? Is it working out well? Any particular tidbits of information that you care to pass on to another rookie about important "to do's" or "thou shall not's" or anything else on the rebuild?

As of right now Terry, the tractor isn't running because I was waiting on the coil. Today I went and picked up the coil so I should know today if everything is good. But as far as the carb goes it seems to be in good working order after the re-build.
