Wire guages

I am looking for information from Ferguson that specifies the wire sizes for the electrical sytems and the light wiring harnesses. All the diagrams I have show color and routing only. Does anyone have such documentation or know for sure what the guages were so I can get mine up to the original design? Thanks.

I have a TO30 but would like guages for other models as well if you have them. The wire harness part numbers for the lights are the same so I assume the guages used will be the same.

I thought I had this information but I don't, unfortunately. However, a given gauge of wire has a given current rating, so it would be possible to figure out the right gauge to use - but it may not quite be original.
I hope someone else has the answer to this as I ave a couple of wiring jobs to do myself.

Jim, I used current rating but this could give you a small wire size that may not stand uup to the abuse especially for a 12v system, so that is why I was trying to get the original sizes.

Phil,
Do you mean the physical abuse or the electrical abuse? If physical, maybe the type of insulation be be more important than the gauge of the wire. Routing it I suppose will also play an important part.
If electrical, I doubt it will be a problem. If you go from 6v to 12v, the current drops by half so wiring from a 6v system is overkill if you convert to 12 (notice the battery cables on a 6v system for example).
It would be nice to just know what the original wiring was though...

Jim, I am talking physical abuse and especially the wire strength, not insulation but that helps. It may be a red herring, however. The insulation was the same 6 or 12v I would presume. One mystery is why the 20 amp fuse used in 6v systems is retained in the 12v light systems when clearly it could be halved, so I presume they kept the same wire guage too, maybe to keep the parts list simple as it is not a big cost issue.
