After reading some previous postings I have learned that the TO-35 deluxe has the two stage clutch. My ID tag has been painted and I was able to scratch away enough to get the serial number and the Model. It doesn't say deluxe but my '55 has a two stage clutch. Is there any different markings on the tractor to signify the difference such as emblems or decals? Was the paint still green and gray or was this different?

Does your serial number start with the letters SGM? as normally the deluxe will bear such letters. For the colour I better let someone more in the know respond.

I don't remember it having the SGM letters but like I said it has the two stage clutch so maybe that is still painted over.I will have to investigate a litter closer.

Could very well be that there is no such letters if the tractor is a pre 56 I think.

I think it's 56 and earlier that don't have the letters, my 55 doesn't, just the serial number(140963) and, it is a Deluxe. AFAIK, there is no real idenitfier of the early Deluxe models other than the double clutch and the ground speed PTO, which can be added to the single clutch versions, but, only the Deluxe cover plates have both positions marked.

Evan;
My '57 is SINGLE clutch and has the cover plate with both PTO positions marked. It also has power sreering, 4 guage dash and the padded seat. What do you make of that? I've been puzzled about this combo since I bought the tractor several years ago. Thanks for any info/insight you may have.
