After filling the steering box with 2 quarts of hydraulic, leaking occured from the box to vertical connecting arms. Is there a round seal connecting this arm?

The steering box has to be removed (including the gear box top cover on the TE20)There is a plate underneath that needs to be undone and from there on it is straight forward, The seals can be replaced with standard types available from a seal specialist.

Just another idea. I've read of someone actually draining the fluid, then using a grease gun and filling the entire casing with grease. It tends not to leak as badly and will probably be sufficient for your problem. I did rebuild my steering box, but was unable to purchse seals for the steering box - either from a local MF dealer or aftermarket via the internet. I fashioned some seals from some neoprene that I had, and they work much better than the original leather. But, they still leak slightly. I think I'll try the grease approach next. Best of luck.

Before using chassis grease, search back to some posts on the steering box unit. One of the guys used grease and ruined his unit. He said when he disassembled the box the grease was still there, just hardened in everywhere but on the gears.

Did you fill with hydraulic fluid (as you imply) or with gear oil. I believe the manual calls for the latter. Gear oil will be thicker than hydraulic fluid and thus will not leak as easily. I would say you can go to 140 gear oil and be ok, and that might slow the leak. Removing the steering box is a pain in the patootie. Not difficult, just tedious.

Yes each arm has a seal. Search back for a post from a guy that tells where to buy the seals and the price. I had saved the info, but a virus crashed my machine($159 repair). I think the dealer is in PA. He described how to replace them also; seems it is a major job because the steering box must be removed.
