A friend of mine had oil comming from the hole in the casting that covers the clutch. When he tried to start the tractor the oil would run outof that hole AND the starter! It seems that water had gotten into the trans. through the shifter boots. Upon further inspection their was oil in the right rear brake drum we also found that there was water in the differential. not real sure where it got in at but after all fluids were drained and refilled WE HOPE everythings ok!

Hi Don, Your friend may have to change the seal from transmission to clutch. The oil on the brakes comes from the same location as the clutch leak.
You see it is the same oil that lubricate the tranny, differential and hydraulics. The axle seals may have to be changed also. These tractors belong under a roof with very good ventilation.

Thanks for that information! I know the thought has been there, we were hoping the seals wouldn`t need to be changed. I think its gonna be a (wait and see!) He hasnt gotten it running yet There was also water in the gas tank! I think the tarp he bought will probably serve as a roof for now!
