Tea front pto shaft

I have a hydraulic pump mounted on the front for the front end loader. I need to replace the fan belt and it would appear that my shaft cannot be removed to allow the belt change. The shaft goes through the front end and is attached to a plate with 4 prongs that fit into the front pulley. The plate moves but not near enought to get a belt through. I am wondering if the shaft un-screws from the plate. Maybe I'am missing something but it looks to me like I may have to take the whole front end off to change the belt. Help??

steve , just an idea can you get a light an check to see if you have set screws holding your shaft in the plate , i don,t know what kind of set up you have but mine has set screws holding the shaft in

Last week I had to try and remove the front end of my TEA because my shaft came loose and was not turning the pump. That was alot of work. The shaft could be splined or keyed. Never the less mine would not come out and the front supports of my FEL would not allow the front end to simply slide out and off the shaft. I ended up just getting enough room to weld the shaft in place. It worked great after that. I could have removed the part that was bolted to the pully too but that seemed like just to much work and trouble at the time.

I too was concerned about changing the belt at some future time unitl I remembered seeing another TEA with a front mounted pump using a link type fan belt. It was made up of several links that where to the proper length and width and simply adjusted using the generator as you normally would and you don't have to take apart anything. I just don't know at this time where to get that type of belt. I do know that you can get a similar link belt from Lee Valley here in Canada. Hope that helps.

Steve. I think maybe you should buy a new tractor, ( kidding ) Im sure there is someone in here that can help you, good luck this question is way out of my league
