TO-30 MAIN REAR OIL SEAL

Has anyone had the pleasure of changing one of these? Is it just a matter of spilting the tractor in half,removing the clutch and flywheel and bolting a new one on?or do you have to remove the crankshaft to get at it? any help here would be great ,thanks.

I just did my TO-30.

It's as simple as removing the front end loader (if present), removing the radiator,gas tank, suspension, front end, removing the engine from the transaxle, removing the clutch assy, and flywheel. There are a couple of bolts on the engine side of the flywheel that hold the seal on and a couple of bolts on the flywheel side. I can't remember if the pan needs to be removed to get two of the bolts or not as mine was already off. Remove total of four bolts and the seal slides off over the end of the shaft.The crankshaft need NOT be removed.

Installation is the reverse.

Yes, it's just a matter of splitting the tractor !!!! Aren't you glad it's so easy ??? !!!!
