My Ferguson 35 Deluxe tractor leaks oil from a hole on the bottom front of the clutch housing.(?) The section of the tractor between the engine and the Ferguson system rearend. Does anyone know what would cause this? It is a continental Z-129.

If it is a 35, are you sure the engine isn't a Z134, rather than a Z129? (Not that it matters for your question, which others have answered well.)

When You say it is leaking, do you mean an occasional drip or constant drips? An occasional drip is no reason to split a tractor I don't believe.

Its the rear crankshaft seal that's to blame. THe cotter pin in the hole is to keep the hole clear just so the oil can leak out and not ruin the clutch. Only way to fix it is to split the engine and replace the seal.
