Low oil presure on TO-20

hello ive just installed new oil pump and new gauge but am only showing 20lbs psi hot or cold.but if i un hook the oil presure line the oil squirts really good,im suspecting a bad gauge,any help would be greatly appriciated

That is really good for a 50 year old tractor. Only way to do better is replace the bearings and sleeve the cam journals. But 20 is better than most. Would not worry.

The manual says that pressure will be low at tickover, no worries I would think if the engine sounds ok.

Terry, The pressure is sufficent. The original type gauges are not accurate, and if the rocker arms aren't clattering with the visible pressure you have don't be concerned. The pump is limited to 30psi by a relief valve. Do a search of this board for oil pressure and you'll find many excellent explanations.
