I posted before about losing power under load & it trying to tear up the 2'nd distributor. I want to thank everybody for their suggestions. Finally got brave & pulled the pan & took a look see. 1'st thing I found was a slight amount of anti freeze dripping from the cylinder walls. Yes I looked for cracks on the bottom & found what looks like brass welds, guess an earlier repair. I'm thinking maybe head gasket? 2'nd thing was a couple of mangled teeth on camshaft gear that the distributor cog fits into. Pulled the timing gear plate & found the nut on the cam shaft timing gear only finger tight. Timing gear also had a couple of rough spots on the teeth. What caused all this? I'm figuring camshaft has to be replaced, but what else & what all is involved doing it. Also finding oil around the rear spark plug, guess that's #4. What should I be looking for there? Starting to think this may as well be a complete overhaul instead of a bunch of fixes! Oh yeah, this girl has the Z129 instead of the Z120 if that helps. Will appreciate any advice.
