Starter for TO-35

I am in need of a starter for a TO-35. The tractor was 6 volt but now has a 12 volt battery. I bought one starter for a 12 volt system but the housing is too large to fit into place. It hits the crank case where the distributor is mounted. So I guess I need a 6 volt starter still. If you have one for sale or trade or have any suggestions please contact me.

Just realized I shouldn't have posted a want to buy here. Sorry all. Can anyone tell me if there are different model of starters for the TO-35?

When I was a small we had a MF-35 Special and we had a 12 volt starter on it and we switched it to a 6 volt starter and it turn faster and did not pull down the battery after that any more. I have recently bought a to-35 tractor made in 1958 and I think I am having a starter problem. I am considering having my rebuilt at a local starter shop. In your case you know that this one will fit.

I have a question for you about your tractor. Does your tractor have a hand crank to crank your tractor manually? My tractor has the hole to stick the crack through the sheetmetal however it has something that looks like a pulley attachment welded on the of the crankshaft. The old MF-35 did not have this we had growing up. It had a place that matched up with the crank. The hand crank is a great backup option to have.
