I got a TO-30 yesterday[$600.00] that was parked in the weeds a couple years from a widow lady that didn"t know anything about her tractor.My son and I put a battery in it and had to pull start it. It has wiring missing by the key switch but it did run ruffly. We can't get it to go into reverse or the start [s] postion. What are we doing wrong?And has anyone run into this before? Mike.

Try pulling up on the gear shift lever... it has a safety for 'start' and 'reverse'.

THANK YOU DENNIS! I JUST LIFTED THE GEARSHIFT A LITTLE AND IT WENT RIGHT INTO [S] AND REVRSE.THANKS AGAIN MIKE.
