Hello! I have a -49 TEA-20 80mm, and would need info in following problems:Q1(Oils): I have completed my engine rebuild, and now I should determine what grade of oil to use in it in the future. I should also change the transmission/hydraulics fluid, and don't know what to use. My Finnish manual is quite vague, it only states "Sae 10/20/30/40" for the engine and "SAE 30/40/50" for transmission, depending on the climate and the make of the oil. My instinct tells me I should use "real" EP-containing transmission oil in tranny, but the local dealer told me to use SAE 10W-30 mineral tractor (engine) oil in both the engine and tranny. I intend to use the Fergie also in winter with Horndraulic loader, and it can get as -20 C below freezing here in Finland (-68 F) (hopefully not very often though ;) ). Q2 (grounding): The wiring and the generator were destroyed, and I'm now using it by directly taking current to coil from the battery and charging it separately. It works now with negative grounding (starter runs OK), but when installing the new loom and generator, I shall need to know if it is really positive ground system (which is my guess, but still..) Q3 (transmission): Can the sliding members (those three which the gearshift bottom-end ball moves back and forth) be changed without taking the whole tranny off the tractor? Somehow I have managed to engage 1st gear in such a way, that the gearshift ball has come out from the 1st/2nd gear groove and won't go back there. I have to remove the gearshift and stick it back in place so, that the ball is in the groove again to get it of 1st gear (annoying, as this happens quite often...) With best wishes: Janne Riikonen, Finland, Europe
